Javen is a young, intelligent depressive. When an enterprising gent known only as the Pigman alleviates Javen’s anxiety, she is sold with his innovative methods. But when the Dark Figure she’s dealing with proves to be a bigger problem, the Pigman suggests methods far more severe.

In the immediate aftermath of the Holocaust, Yiddish poet Kadya Molodowsky wrote her drama After the Desert God, inspired by true events in the life of Doña Gracia Mendes Nasi (1510-69). Molodowsky brings history to life with vivid characters, taut dialogue, intrigue, and romance.
